Tournament Goal

The ultimate goal of the Light Longsword tournament is to maintain a similar level of intensity, athleticism, and technical skill to the other longsword divisions while reducing force levels.

While we enjoy and appreciate the current tournament scene, we know there are many members of the HEMA community who are uncomfortable with the level of force typically displayed in Longsword tournaments. We have friends who frequently make the choice to either participate in tournaments where they may not feel safe, or to not participate at all. Our hope as organizers is to provide a distinct experience that fills a niche for members of our community who are underserved by current tournament offerings, and/or for fencers who are looking for a new challenge.
