If you spot an immediate safety issue during a match, call "HALT" so that it can be addressed. Anyone can and should do this - including spectators, competitors, judges.

All attendees including spectators must sign up for GUHS membership - free for spectators and competitors who already have valid insurance, £30 for competitors who need to obtain insurance.
All competitors must have valid martial arts insurance. This is included if you have paid for GUHS sparring membership, or hold AHA membership. The following kit will be provided at the event, and is the minimum standard for competitors. Additional safety kit is encouraged, provided that it does not endanger others.
If you wish to bring your own messer, it must be a Red Dragon synthetic - no other types of synthetics are allowed, due to differences in flex and weight.
These actions are always non-scoring, and can result in warnings, and more serious measures at judges' discretion.
