MordhauMini is a recurring Southwest regional event used to prepare for larger national events. MordhuaMini III is the third installment. This time we are preparing for SoCal SwordFight 2023 and we will be using the Open Steel Longsword rules and requirements per SoCal SwordFight. MordhauMini III is open to all skill levels and is intended as a friendly ice breaker.
The goal is to familiarize new competitors with tournament etiquette and rulesets that they should expect at a large national level event. We encourage seasoned competitors to join as well to shake off the rust while nurturing the growth of the tournament scene in Arizona. Because of the nature of MordhauMinis, we do not award medals, large prizes, or submit to HEMA Ratings. We want low-stress, low injury rates, and a relaxed environment to break the ice or shake off the rust. This event also provides a low-stress environment for new judges and directors to gain valuable experience without the added pressure of a large event.
